First things first, if my kind of photography looks like your kind of thing, sending me a quick email is a great way to get the ball rolling. Tell me a bit about you, your wedding date and your venue.

I’ll always try to get back to you within two working days to let you know if I’m available.

If I am (fingers crossed!) I’ll send you one or two links so you can view full galleries of weddings I’ve done. If I’m not, I’ll send you a list of other photographers I recommend.

Emma and Will's Wedding at Norwood Park, Southwell, Nottinghamshire. July 2018. Tropical styling and modern wedding dress.

The next step is my favourite – getting to know each other a bit better. I’ve said it so many times, but I get the best results from couples I connect with. So, if you’re local, I can arrange for us to get together over a cuppa in Nottingham. If you’re further afield, we can find a good time to Skype or chat on the phone. Or, if you prefer, we can just chat by email and save meeting in person for your engagement shoot.

If you’re happy and you’d like to go ahead, my booking process works like this:

The contract. I’ll email it over for you to fill in your wedding and contact details. If you’ve got any questions, just ask and once you send back a signed copy we can move on to…

The deposit. I’ll send you a deposit invoice for £300. As soon as I get your payment, your date will be secured and we’ll have got all the boring admin out of the way. Now for the fun part…

I’ll get in touch to arrange an engagement shoot. They’re a lovely way to start your wedding story and you can read lots more about my engagement sessions here. If you’ve got a location in mind, great. If not, I’ll send you some ideas. These can be urban or rural – it’s completely up to you.

Alice and Adrian Wedding at Nottingham Contemporary and the Lace Market Hotel

8 weeks before the big day I’ll send you an invoice for the rest of my fee and let you know as soon as I receive it.

2 weeks before I’ll give you a ring to double check all the details and talk through the order of the day.

The day before I’ll drop you a text to let you know I’m all packed and ready. It’s just a little check in to steady your nerves and let you know everything’s ok.

On your wedding day I’ll arrive bright and early to start capturing all those little – and big! – moments that make your day so unique. I usually take my first photos while you’re getting ready and stay until the dancing’s well under way.

A week after your wedding I’ll send you a link to a short gallery with a few sneaky peeks. I can also put a few images on my Facebook page if you’d like share them with friends and family that way too.

Tipi Wedding with humanist ceremony

4 to 6 weeks after your wedding I’ll have finished editing your photos and they’ll be ready for you to look at in an online gallery. You’ll be able to mark your favourites, download and share them.

7 weeks after your wedding I’ll be in touch to ask you for some feedback. This is really important to me as it helps me get better at what I do. I’ll probably ask you for a Google and Facebook review too, if that’s ok.

8 weeks after your wedding – or whenever you’re ready – if you’d like me to help you put together an album we can start choosing the best photos.

And that’s it! I like to make the whole process as relaxed and stress free as possible, so whatever you need to know, whenever you’ve got a burning question, I’m right here. Just ask.
